Richard Canfield

Canfield Expert – A simple, Level I, balanced card counting strategy optimized for Playing Efficiency found in Richard Canfield’s Blackjack Your Way to Riches, Carol Publishing Group, 1977, revised 1994. Hi-Opt I is slightly superior. Few people use this strategy today as it was designed for single-deck and playable, single-deck games are becoming rare.

Canfield Master – A proprietary, advanced, Level II, balanced Blackjack strategy available from Canfield Associates for $250 since the mid-’70s. This is a precursor to Bryce Carlson’s Omega II with the same tag values. Side counts were suggested, making this system quite difficult. Few people use this strategy today as it was designed for single-deck, is no longer sold, and Omega II is available. Richard Canfield was a casino pit boss turned author and is long retired. At one time, he published a newsletter edited by Bob Gates.
