Betting Strategy - Rules
This screen is used to view or modify a CVDATA Blackjack Basic Betting Strategy.
Basic Betting Strategies
You will see three columns of spin controls. You change the value in spin controls by clicking on the backward and forward arrows. The Basic Strategies are designed to cover most simulation needs.
Controls
Ø Count Range Start/End - Set the start and end of the range of counts for which you will set bets. For example, setting 1 and 4 means that you will indicate bets for card counts of 1 and less, 2, 3, and 4 and more.
Ø Reset after Shuffle - If set, the bet will reset after a shuffle to the values set at the right.
Ø Running Count - Running Count is used for betting purposes even if there is a True Count.
Ø Shuffle Bet - If ‘Reset after Shuffle’ is set, set the bet to this many units.
Ø Shuffle Hands - If ‘Reset after Shuffle’ is set, bet this many hands at the start of a shuffle.
Betting by the Count
Ø Count Column - The numbers in this column are the counts at which you can increase to a higher level of betting.
Ø Units Column - This column contains the number of units bet at each level.
Ø Hands Column - In some betting strategies, you will split to multiple hands on high counts. If, for example, you put a four in the Hands Column, then four hands will be played, each with the number of units in the Units column.
Cover Betting
Ø No Increase after a Loss - If set, units bet cannot be increased after losing a hand no matter what the count is. This is a cover bet. A cover bet is a non-optimal bet used when the optimal bet might bring unwanted attention from the casino. If you raise after a loss irregularly, you might indicate that you are counting. It is better to lose some of your advantage than to be asked to leave the casino.
Ø No Decrease after a Win - Opposite of above.
Ø Same Bet after a Push - This freezes your bet after a tie and is also a cover play.
Ø No Large Increases or Decreases - When set, the bet will not change from one hand to the next by more than one row in the Units column, no matter what the count says.
Ø Reset Bet after Shuffle - When set, the first bet in a new shoe will always be the value set in the spin control.
