Card Counting Drills Operation
When you hit Launch, the drill will begin. If you selected the Quick Count Drill, then cards fly by quickly to determine your card counting speed. If you select any of the other drills, then tests are periodically presented as the cards are dealt. The tests consist of an array of numbers that appear. You must select the correct answer, depending on the drill selected, with the mouse. If you are correct, the button with the selected number turns green and the deal is continued. If you are incorrect, the selected button will turn red and the correct button will turn green. You must press the correct button to continue. You will also see the following:
Distractions
Ø Stopwatch - The stopwatch will show the expired time
Ø Strip Chart - Your accuracy and speed are plotted here as you play. This is designed primarily as a distraction. The Charts are far more useable.
Stats
Ø Rounds - This field displays the number of tests that have taken place in this drill.
Ø Seconds - In Automatic and Count Up Timer Modes, this field shows the total time used thus far in the drill. In Count Down Timer Mode, this field starts at the Alarm Time and counts down. The alarm sounds when the number reaches zero and the count continues into negative numbers.
Ø Accuracy - Shows the percentage of correct test answers.
Ø Speed - This shows the average time per test.
Buttons
Ø Start - Pressing the START button will begin a new drill the drill.
Ø Peek - This button is only available for the Quick Count Drill. Pressing the PEEK button will stop the cards and display the current count, remaining decks, and true count according to the currently selected system. If Ace and/or Ten side counts are kept (according to the SELECT STRATEGIES screen), then these counts are also displayed: Both the number of Aces dealt is shown and the number of excess Aces remaining. Adjusted betting, playing and/or insurance true counts are also shown according to the side counts kept. The PEEK button will change to CONTINUE when hit. Press CONTINUE to hide the count and continue.
Ø Stop - This will halt the drill.
Ø Next - Deal the next card. (You can also hit the return key).
Ø Repeat - Rerun the last drill with the same cards.
Ø Repeat - Rerun the last drill with the same cards.
Ø Exit - This will exit back to the options page.
You can use the Print icon in the lower left corner to create a report of the current card counting drill.
