CVShuffle Cut Analysis

The Cut screen can be called from the CVShuffle main screen, but is usually used during practice. The Cut screen appears after each shuffle to provide the ability to cut the cards. However, if you click Examine, several options appear to provide a better understanding in the effect of the cut.

The Cut

To cut the cards, simply click on the stack of cards where you want the cut to take place. The position of the cut in cards and decks will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can click again if you wish to select a different cut. Click Exit when done. Examine will turn on the options.

Play Zone Count

After you cut the cards, you can indicate that you want the count adjusted during play while in the play zone. You specify the location of the play zone, the initial running count and the zone length for True Count calculations. CV will adjust its counting accordingly for betting, playing and statistics. All betting and playing strategies and True Count calculation options will be used and the adjusted Running Count, True count and Decks Remaining will be displayed in the Tray Popup stats. For example, assume the following settings:

Start Card: 53

End Card: 105

IRC: -10

TC Numerator: 52

At card 53, the running count will change to -10. The TC will be calculated assuming that you are at the start of a one deck shoe. As you play through the zone, the RC will be adjusted by the seen cards and the TC calculated. At card 105, the IRC (-10) will be subtracted out of the RC, the old RC at card 52 will also be added back and the TC calculations will revert to full shoe.

Graph Type

You will see a simple graph above and below the cards. These options control the type of graph.

Ø Single Card - When this option is set, graphs of the counts will be displayed above and below the cards. The important graph is at the bottom showing where the count will be as you play the shoe. Use Count Calculation options to define the type of count.

Ø By Segment - When set, you will see the counts that exist in only within segments of cards. Instead of a running count that includes all cards earlier in the shoe, the total count in each segment is displayed. Use the Segment Size control to set the number of cards in each segment.

Ø Moving Average - Use this option if you want to see the general count trend through the shoe.

Ø Invert Graph - Normally, low counts are displayed in green and plotted upwards and high counts are displayed in red and downward. This is backwards from a normal counter’s thinking. A counter doesn’t want to see Tens used up and counts them as negatives. A shuffle tracker is looking for bunches of Tens and Aces and is therefore looking for segments with negative counts. So the plot is inverted. If this bothers you, click on Invert Graph to switch negative and positive counts.

Cards

Ø Show Marked - When this option is on, the locations of all Marked and Key cards are displayed. For more information, see the section on Ace Sequencing. Marked cards are displayed in red and Key cards are displayed in green.

Ø Show Tens (nines) - When this option is on, the location of all the Tens will be displayed. If you have set Show Nines on the Defaults page, Nines will also be displayed.

Ø Show Aces - Click to also display Aces. Normally they will be displayed in a different color.

Ø Same Color - Click to display Tens and Aces in the same color.

Count Calculation

Ø True Count - When this option is set, the graphs plot the True Count through the shoe. The counting strategy selected in the game will be used. If there is no counting strategy selected, Hi-Lo will be used.

Ø Running Count - Same as above, but running count.

Ø Ten Count - A balanced Ten Count is used. That is Tens are negative and all other cards positive.

Ø Ace Count - A balanced Ace Count is used. That is Aces are negative and all other cards positive.

Ø Ace/Ten Count - A balanced Ace/Ten Count is used. That is Aces and Tens are negative and all other cards positive.

Ø Custom Count RC - Click to define a count separate from the game’s count and plot its running count

Ø Custom Count TC - Same as above but for True Count.

Ø Force Balanced - This can be selected in addition to any of the above. Unbalanced counts do not provide a very good picture of a shoe and in general are not very good for shuffle tracking. If you are using an unbalanced count, you can click this option to provide a better picture. The unbalanced counts tag values are used, but the count is adjusted throughout the deck to force the count to appear balanced.
