CVTest - Custom Blackjack Card Counting Drills

CVTest is a facility designed to measure your long-term progress and identify weak spots in your counting skills. Basically, strings of different drills are placed into scripts or tests. When you perform one of the scripts, you are led through a standard set of drills. At the end, you are provided with overall speed, accuracy and rating numbers. Charts are provided that show your progress over time, not only for the entire string of drills but also for the individual contributions from each drill or step. This provides a quick picture of your growth and any areas where your skills may have degraded.

CVTest Scripts

You enter CVTest from the CVDrills main screen. Upon entry, you will see an Explorer-like tree containing the tests on the left. There are a couple of standard tests delivered with CVTest. CVT-R is for running count strategies and CVT-T is for true count strategies. You can also create your own scripts, or import scripts created by other people.

CVTest Options

Ø Ratings - At the end of a test, a Rating is calculated taking into account your speed and accuracy. On the top right, you will find a slider that controls this calculation. The farther it is to the right, the more important is accuracy. To the left, speed. This overrides the Rating calculation setting for CVDrills. If you wish to compare your results with other people, you should leave this control set to between the center and far right.

Ø Show Intermediate Results - If this option is set, the results for each step (drill) will be displayed between drills. If off, the intermediate results will be skipped.

CVTest Results

After you have run a script, results will appear here. The results of the last five times that you ran the selected script will be displayed. Speed indicates the average rounds per minute in each drill. Accuracy is the average accuracy. Rating is your overall score. To see more results and detail, click the Charts button.

Functions

Ø Launch - Select a script on the left and click Launch to start a script. You will be taken through several drills. At the start of each drill, the Drills option page is displayed with the options that have been selected for that drill in the script. Take your time looking at the options - the clock is not running. When ready, hit Launch and the drill will run. At the end of the drill, the intermediate results will be displayed if requested. When ready, you can press NEXT in the middle of the screen to go to the next drill. If you have not requested intermediate results, you will go straight to the next drill in the script. Again, you will see a drill options screen, but now with different options or a different drill. Continue until all the steps are complete. You will be returned to the CVTest screen with the results displayed.

Ø New Test - Click this button to create a new script.

Ø Edit - Select a script and click on Edit to change the script.

Ø Delete - Click on a script and hit Delete to remove it permanently.

Ø Charts - Select a script and hit Charts to look at the long-term results for that script.

Ø Reset Stats - Select a script and hit this button to clear all results from all executions of that script.
