Settings - Cassie/Sound

Click on one of the ten tabs at the top of the screen for different folders containing sets of option settings. If you have difficulty finding an option, press the Locator button. This screen is entered from menu OPTIONS - SETTINGS and contains options controlling Cassie, the animated assistant as follows:

Sound Options

Ø Sound On - Turn off to remove simple PC speaker sounds.

Ø Voice Hand Totals - In some casinos, the dealers call out hand totals. This can also help novices. This feature requires a sound card.

Ø Use a quieter sound for errors - Use a beep instead of the annoying buzzer. Frankly, if you are making errors you should probably keep the annoying buzzer. The buzzer is only used if Cassie is not set to speak out the errors.

Ø Adjust Volumes - If your sound card allows dynamic volume adjustment, and this option is turned on, the two slide controls can be used to vary the volume. Turn the option off if it interferes with other applications. It is preferable to use the standard Windows sound options.

Ø Effects Volume - This slide controls the volume for sound effects.

Ø Voice Volume - This slide controls the volume of all voices.

Cassie's Voice

A computer generated voice is used for Cassie for maximum flexibility. Unfortunately, computer generated voices are not nearly as pleasant as recorded voices. You can tune the voice to some extent here.

Ø Voice - Select from several different voices. Only the first two are female.

Ø Pitch - Change the octave used.

Ø Speed - Change the number of words per minute.

Ø Test Voice - Try out your changes.

Cassie Options

Ø No voice explanations - Turn off the automatic explanations from Cassie. You can still request an explanation by right-clicking Cassie and selecting Explain.

Ø Do not display Cassie during play - Remove Cassie while the table is visible.

Ø Do not speak errors - Betting and playing errors will be signaled by the buzzer instead of by voice.

Ø Advanced - A couple of additional options.
