Six Decks

These charts are still a bit difficult to see here. Remember that the charts can all be found on the web at the URL provided below each chart.

The horizontal scale is the penetration, as in many previous charts. To further pull the lines apart, the vertical scale has been set to 70% to 100% instead of 0 to 100%. So a point at 70% means that the Super-SCORE is 70% of the Super-SCORE of the best strategy at that penetration.

We see twelve lines in the chart on the next page, representing the twelve strategies. At the top, there is a dark green bar that continues along the 100% line for two-thirds of the width before dropping downward. This means that Hi-Opt II has the highest Super-SCORE for 60 through 130 cards cut off. The violet line indicates that Halves comes in second place for those penetrations, and then takes over first place at the higher penetrations. Of course Halves is a level III strategy, and Hi-Opt II is a level II strategy with an ace side-count, making these very difficult to use.

There is a vertical line in the center of the chart. Our attempt is to find games to the right of this line if we can. Let us move down that line. Below Hi-Opt II, we find a deep crimson line for AOII, another difficult level II count with a side-count. Few people use these difficult counts these days. Next we hit the cyan colored line representing the FELT Count. This is a level II strategy, but has no side count and compromise indexes for ease.

Next, the yellow, red, and blue lines converge at about the same in the center of the chart. These represent RPC (Revere Point Count), Mentor, and Zen. Looking to the right and left, we see that Zen (blue) performs better at higher penetrations and less well at lower penetrations compared to the other two, in six-deck games. The reason that FELT slightly outperforms RPC, even though they use the same tag values and FELT uses compromise indexes, is that FELT uses full-deck divisors for true count calculation. This improves the precision of the betting ramp. The difference between the yellow line (RPC) and cyan line (FELT) looks large. But the vertical scale has been expanded to make the differences more obvious. In fact, the Super-SCORES are 13.6 and 13.8 for a slight difference of less than 2%.
