In a six-deck game, the penalty for using DAS split tables in an nDAS game is .017%. The penalty for using nDAS tables in a DAS game is .013%.

To put the Split table into words:

Ø  Always split aces and 8s. You split 8s because 16 is a terrible hand. Against a 10, you are hoping to push (win one hand and lose the other) instead of lose.

Ø  You usually split 9s, but not against a 7 since you have 18 and the dealer is not likely to beat that with a 7. And do not split against 10 or ace since the dealer is likely to beat you.

Ø  Split 7s up to 7.

Ø  Split 6s up to 6.

Ø  Split 4s against a dealer 5 or 6 since those are bad cards for the dealer.

Ø  You do not split 5s since it is better to double 10.

Ø  2s and 3s are split up to 7.

Ø  If DAS is not available, do not split 4s, do not split 2s and 3s against 2 and 3, and do not split 6s against a 2.

Soft Doubles

Most casinos allow doubling a soft hand – a two-card hand with an Ace. The first table is used when the dealer stands on soft-17 (S17). Double on green. On red, do not double, but go to the next table.
